One of my absolute favorite things (that is completely free!) to do is people watch around the city to see what people are wearing. Everyone’s styles are so unique! You can immediately identify who the native New Yorkers are to the tourists to the influencer/bloggers just based on what they are wearing. For a native New Yorker, basics and comfort is key to everyday wardrobe! Obviously, getting dressed up is nice, but it’s sometimes not practical for getting around in the city by subway or walking. One of the many places I traveled to in my world tour was Sicily. Now, I had never been nor knew much about Sicily, but traveling there with some type of Italian speaking ability is a must. I traveled to Sicily as part of the Marist College abroad attachment program where I took a class on Sicilian cinema for the semester. WHAT WAS ON THE ITINERARY FOR MY WEEK AND A HALF IN SICILY?

After the 3 full days in Switzerland, we took the train from Switzerland to Germany. Let me tell you, it was not easy. A six hour ride turn into nine hours later, we made it to Munich (going from Geneva to Zurich, Zurich to Augsburg and Augsburg to Munich). SO, WHAT WAS OUR ITINERARY FOR SEEING MUNICH IN 48 HOURS?

So here’s the tea. You know that nervous feeling you get before traveling? Like you are forgetting something or you think something might go wrong? Well, this was it. Actually this was one of a few things that went wrong while in Europe for a month.

I was ready to travel before the world was ready for me to get back to traveling! In January, when flights were still at an all time low, I booked a trip with my boyfriend to Punta Cana. This got me through an entire school semester! But, of course, the experience of traveling post covid was not as easy as I thought. Let me explain….

Hi guys! It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. I’ve been MIA with my schoolwork, transitioning into quarantine, etc. But I am back and I wanted to fill you guys in on what I’ve been up to and my summer plans with everything going on!

For this spring break, my mom and I went to the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards for one night and two days. It was the coolest experience staying at a New York City hotel. Workout apps are hard to come by lately. Since the idea of health and fitness has become such a hot topic, everyone wants to be up-to-date on the latest exercise trends to feel and look better. Many go to workout apps or fitness bloggers for ideas on how to look better, but sometimes that’s not the best idea. Find out why here.

Many people have their own workout routine, whether it’s an hour of cardio and some weight training to feel refreshed or the completely opposite where it’s all weights to bulk up. My plan includes all that and more! Each day I focus on something different, such as legs using weights and running or using TRX and HIIT.

As part of Fitness February, I wanted to make a post dedicated to just body weight workouts. Today, I was able to go into New York City and have a photoshoot with my favorite photographer Richard Cordero (Instagram: @richardcordero). I shot some of my favorite outfits with him that I’ve loved wearing this winter. There is a range of outfits, from casual day wear sweater look to a night out outfit to athletic wear. It was so much fun shooting them in the city and we lucked out on having the weather not be too bad (for the middle of January anyways), but enjoy!

2020 is here with an all new way of shopping! In the past, it’s been about getting the “new” style and trying to have an individual look, where no one can get the same look as you. As the sustainability movement has become more and more prevalent in the fashion industry, the consumer has really picked up on that. They not only shop at more sustainable brands, but they will also refuse to shop at retail stores that don’t have a sustainable options.

While I was in Amsterdam, I noticed so many fall trends right off the bat. It was interesting to see because the window displays at the stores looked exactly like what everyone was wearing on the streets! While walking along Negen Straatjes, full of more boutique-style stores, and Nieuwendijk (I’m not even going to attempt to pronounce that street), which is the equivalent of New York City’s Time Square and Herald Square, I noticed a lot of people were dressed very similarly. I am officially on summer break and have my first year of college under by belt! I’m so happy to be done with my first year of college, but I also really missed all my friends from home. But now I’m home and extremely excited for what’s to come!

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post, but since school is almost, over I thought I would bring it back with a new post! This one is different than some of my other ones, it’s more of an informative about the new Victoria’s Secret swimwear. What better way to go into the summer with talking about Swimwear? If you read my last blog post, you know that I have continued my conscious consumption challenge into February instead of just shopping in January. The new month is here, which means I can FINALLY shop!! I’ve been looking forward to shopping for a while now (as you would have probably guessed). Although I am able to shop again, I have learned a lot from not shopping and seeing what I spend my money on besides clothes. Instead of going back to spending spending spending, I am going to take some things into consideration while shopping during the month of February that will hopefully stick for the rest of the year.

It is finally time for me to go back to school and start my second semester at Marist! But before it gets busy, I wanted to share some of my favorite memories of my month long break, so here’s my break in a nutshell.  

Yes, you read that right! Every year, my mom and I give up shopping for the entire month of January to prove that we are conscious (or, at least for me, somewhat aware) about the clothes that we already have in our closets. It is officially 2019, which means time for some New Years resolutions! I’ve been doing a lot of thinking recently of how to be more balanced with schoolwork and outside activities since I’ve started my semester at Marist. Since I’ve gotten home, I was able to reflect on my year and first semester and recognize some changes that I should try to make for 2019 to be a better year.

Merry Christmas everyone! I’m so excited to have been able to spend it with my family and friends. This year, I got so many cute styles and beauty products from many different stores. After a stressful week of finals, I am finally off for a month long winter break! Getting back in the grove means weekly blog posts. To kick off the winter break, I want to write about my favorite holiday activities to do in New York City. Whether you want to make a day out of it and do everything, or just do one or two, these six activities will definitely get you in the holiday spirit!

Recently, I’ve been especially in the mood to shop, but not just general shopping. I have a specific image in my head of what I want to wear for Thanksgiving. I imagine wearing either a dress/romper or a skirt with tights underneath and either knee high boots or booties. I’m not sure why but I’m obsessed with tights this season. I am taking inspiration from last years outfits, along with some outfits of bloggers that I follow on Instagram.

One of the best stores to find the most trendy clothes this fall is Zara. Zara is one of the most popular fast fashion retailers in the world, and they are always coming up with unique styles from head to toe. They have anything from a basic tee and jean from their “Join Life” collection, all the way to the most extravagant dresses and jackets there could be. This season is no exception, except for the fact that there is an overboard of print taking over the Zara stores!

Now that I’ve gotten settled at Marist with everything, it is important that I stick with a workout routine that is right for me. As I mentioned in my other workout routine posts, I’m a huge fan of ab and core workouts and I incorporate different ones into my workouts; while I alternate between legs and arms each day. Switching gyms, especially when it’s a downgrade from the one back at home, makes it super hard to develop a set routine. Alternating between workout youtube videos, Pinterest workouts and the ones my trainer has given me, I have finally found a set routine that I will share with you today!

This summer was full of some of my favorite outfit and lots of shopping (courtesy of my job at Anthropologie). Basically all of these outfits are either from Urban Outfitters or Free People because those are my favorite stores and I was able to get super good discounts from my job. As the season of summer officially ends, I wanted to take you on a trip down memory lane at my favorite summer outfits that are still available!

Happy New York Fashion Week everyone! It’s officially one of my favorite weeks of the year and I could not be more excited! This year, I wasn't able to see as much as I wanted to see for fashion week because I'm still getting adjusted to being at Marist. I was able to travel into the city on Saturday night for a couture fashion show and I can’t wait for you to read about my experience!

There's always that weird time between summer and fall, where it's too early to bring out the fall boots and sweater, but to late to keep wearing your beach dresses and bikinis. This time of the season is really hard for fashionistas to find outfits to wear on a daily basis. Luckily, I've been doing some research and I'm going to show you a bunch of easy ways to turn summer outfits into fall ones!

Although the summer tans eventually fade (sadly), I want to keep mine for as long as possible. With this tropical summer not being to friendly to "tanners" like me, I take advantage of every sunny day I can get. I decided to dedicate this post to all of the college freshman who are looking for dorm decor inspiration! I know for me, it’s super overwhelming with what colors to chose, if there’s a theme, matching with your roommates theme (or in my case, waiting until the beginning of August to even meet my roommate). Starting today, I will be working at Anthropologie and a personal stylist, and I'm so excited! This is going to be my first job in retail and I'm so excited to be able to work in a store as cool as Anthropologie. As of Tuesday, I am officially a college student going to Marist college in Poughkeepsie, New York to fashion merchandising. I am so excited to go there in less than two months and meet all new people. I have always had obsessions when it comes to fashion. I went through a phase where I was obsessed with dresses, then headbands (thanks to Gossip Girls), then rompers, tops, bodysuits, shoes, bracelets and basically everything else from clothes to hair accessories to jewelry. My newest obsession is the layered jewelry look. I'm not sure why I've become obsessed with this now, but its come just in time for summer!

If you haven’t heard of the the app Finery, you should read this first of all. If you have, you are part of the fashion forward technology that is just becoming popular. To sum it up in a sentence, Finery is an app that allows you to access your ENTIRE closet from your phone. This allows you to plan out your outfits for the week with a press of a few buttons. The main purpose for using Finery is to get people to shop from inside their closet, and to become more conscious of the clothes they are buying versus the clothes they already have. 

Gov Ball season is officially here, and that mean you need to get your Gov ball OOTD! For the first time, I'm going to be attending the Gov Ball festival at Governors Island and I'm so excited! I'm going to the Sunday one, where artists like Eminem, Anime, Quinn XCII, Khalid, and many more will be preforming. I am currently on the search of the cutest festival outfits, and I thought I would share some of what I think are some cute outfits. I found so many adorable outfits that would look amazing for Gov Ball. For those who are going to Gov Ball and don't know what to wear, or those that just want to see some cute spring outfits, keep scrolling down!

It is officially prom season and that means every girl out there is looking for the perfect dress. They have to buy a pretty dress, one that no other girl has in their grade, get shoes, have their make up done, then their hair, AND the nails (BOTH manicure and pedicure), all while making sure they've spent weeks if not months getting that prom perfect body at the gym. That sounds like a whole lot of work to go to a dance that lasts 4 hours. The countdown to prom has officially started. I've got my dress. I've got my shoes. I've (almost) got what hair and make up style I'm going to do. One of the most important factors, for me at least, is to get into shape for prom. This involves much more than just going to the gym everyday, it means I have to think of a healthy prom diet. As much as it pains me not being able to go to Magic Fountain for ice cream or eating Chipotle for dinner, I want to really challenge myself to see if I can maintain a healthy diet for prom. You'll notice a trend in the foods that I share today, they are require minimal effort to make, but they are super healthy!

In the fashion world, vintage and customized anything gives the customer a special attachment to the product because they feel it's made especially for them, which it is. For high school and college students, it has become a huge trend to get, or make, vans sneakers with customized designs based on the college/ University that the person is or will be going too! As you can probably see on my Instagram, I’m in Amsterdam for the week! I’m having a blast being here with all of the canals, delicious food, and different places to explore!! I noticed some MAJOR trends for Spring Amsterdam fashion that I wanted to share. These trends are some that I saw throughout Amsterdam.

After spending my spring break in Barbados, I've come back all nice and tan. I had such a fun time in Barbados that I thought I would make a little vlog about my vacation. I tried to capture as much video as I could of the activities that I did and some tanning tips. I hope you enjoy my video!

As part of my preparation of spring break, I am trying to get into shape for the beach! Many people have asked me where I bought my jeans or if I drew the design on the jeans myself.  Well the answer is no I did not draw on my jeans (I'm not that artistically gifted). I actually bought them at Free People's Holiday sale - I've gotten a lot of use out of them! Not only do they look amazing and super artsy, but the fit is amazing. On Saturday, I went to Soho to shop and go for brunch. I spent the entire morning shopping at some of the coolest stores, ones that are not typically seen in Manhattan. I topped off the day by going to one of the healthiest buffet style restaurants ever. The best thing about shopping at a direct to consumer brands is that you know you won't be getting the same clothes as someone else. Although it was tough not being able to buy anything for 31 days, it was a super good cleanse to start off the new year. When I had free time, I would look at some of my favorite stores and be surprised at how I didn't feel like I really needed that sweater or pair of jeans; I made do with what I had in my closet. Since February has come around, I've been shopping A LOT, and here is what I bought!

Instagram is one of the greatest outlets for exchanging ideas and connecting around fashion. It's been an amazing way for bloggers, like myself, to show off our fashion style and connect with our audience. During NYFW, I was able to listen to a talk with WWD's style director, Alex Badia, and Director of fashion at Instagram, Eva Chen. Instagram has changed fashion for the future and I learned the answers to the questions that everyone wants to know.

This week, I was chosen to model in my schools annual Catwalk fashion show. This show displays student designs inspired by different ideas (kind of like the show Project Runway). This year, 16 designers had to make prom dresses using only scraps from thrift shops. As I talked to the other designers, they each had different inspirations for their designs. 

I first bought Kikos products over the summer when I traveled to Milan, Italy. I thought that I could only get their cosmetic products online or in Italy, but I was wrong, they have locations in New York City! My mom and I discovered that they actually just opened a new location in Time Square, so we thought we would go check it out. We came out with new everything!

This semester, I took a class on exercise for my science. In this class, we learned about the behind the scenes of what happens to our body when we exercise. As the semester is coming to an end, our final project was to create a work out plan to follow for the next three weeks. My goal for my three week workout plan is to incorporate my core into other workouts (including legs, arms and cardio).

As prom season is slowly rolling around, I am on the hunt for the perfect dress. There are many things to consider in finding the perfect dress- the fit, the color, the length, etc. This weekend, I went to Jacquelines in Livingston, New Jersey to start my search. 

As a part of the month of Conscious Consumption, I picked out some clothes that I thought would look cute from in store retailers.To continue my snooping for the month of January, I thought I would pick out some items that I liked from online.

There are many incredible denim brands and lately there's been more talk about the new brands at Amazon Fashion so I thought I would check it out. I've never actually purchased any clothes from Amazon before, because usually I try on jeans in store,  but boy was there a lot to choose from. I saw the new Hale line on Amazon and took a deep dive into denim.

If you haven't already read in my previous post, The Conscious Consumption Challenge, I have given up shopping for the entire month of January. This conscious consumption challenge consists of not purchasing any clothes, shoes or accessories. After sixteen days of not being able to shop, I am definitely having shopper's withdrawal. It's very tempting for me to shop, or as I call it snooping, online to see if I'm missing out on anything. Most of the time, I'm not, but I found a few things that I would definitely get if I wasn't participating in the Conscious Consumption Challenge. 

As a part of my "Bloggers New Year’s Resolution", I wrote that I'm going to blog about more fitness topics. All last year, I learned that it's just as important to keep a healthy diet as it is to exercise. My only issue is that I'm not much of a cooker or baker, so that limits me on what I can eat that’s healthy and easy to make. 

As I was looking through Pinterest, I found a picture that really caught my eye. This got me to thinking about how just one piece of clothing, meant for spring/summer time, can be turned into an all year round outfit. You can make all different kinds of outfits for all different kinds of weather from just one simple thing... a jumpsuit.

Instagram and WGSN have collected trend reports and is now highlighting the "Instatrends" from the most top preforming fashion brands, such as Urban Outfitters, H&M, Gap and Zara. I stumbled across this super cool trend report and wanted to share it with you guys, since I found it to be extremely interesting. What will your favorite store be highlighting?

For the month of January, I decided to join my mom in the  "No Shop January" challenge that she does every year.  Just like a diet cleanse, it is sort of a shopping cleanse.  At first, I thought that it was just because she didn't want to spend money for the entire month of January and to see if she could actually do it, but it is a lot more than just that.  Happy New Year Everyone!! As I was looking at my New Years resolutions from last year, it gave me some ideas of what I should try to work on this year. I'm going to definitely think of some goals for blogging specifically that I would like to improve on, but I've also got some good ones that I can try to do just in life too.

After just getting amazing Christmas gifts, I found myself tempted to look at online stores for the end of the year sales. I'm usually a huge fan of brick and mortar shopping because then I can touch and feel the clothes and am able to try it on before buying it. As I was looking online, I found a number of stores that had amazing deals. Some of them were stores that I always shop at, but some of them I have never actually shopped at before, since they don't have a retail location at the mall that I go too.  Below is a list of the stores that I think have super sales and some that don't have the best sales!

The city at Christmas time is so festive.  There's no better way to get in the Christmas spirit than to visit the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center. With all the ice skater skating around and the amazing view of the tree, it’s one of my favorite things to do around the holiday season.

There is so much to do in the city around Christmas time. My trip included Christmas shopping, getting hair done, dinner, pictures at Bryannt Park and the radio city spectacular. It was a busy night in the city. Read about the magical night I had!

High knee boots are a MUST for winter. It took me a while to find the perfect pair of high knee boots because I wanted them to be a specific height, look a certain kind of way, and have the right kind of foot shape. I found these at Macy's for a reasonable price, so they became a Christmas gift from last year that I got great use of. Find some cute outfits that go along with these boots!

One of the best places to take a stroll, if your ever in the neighborhood, is near pier 36. There is an amazing view of the Brooklyn bridge along the river that will keep you in awe!

On Sunday, I went to the The River Blue screening at Parsons, NYC. This screening and panel discussion presented how fashion has impacted the environment at an alarming rate. It was an eyeopener how the apparel we buy could be polluting some of the rivers around the world due to waste disposal. Read about what you could do to save the environment when you shop!

I am always open to learning new exercises, especially for core. Sometimes i like to branch of from my regular routines and make up some new exercises. Most of them are just variations of already existing workouts, so they don’t really have a name, but here are some new workouts that have benefitted me tremendously.

Several days ago, I was at Urban Outfitters and I noticed tons of metallic, sparkle and velvet in the store. While a majority of these clothes are for special occasions, they are also great mixed with everyday casual styles.

On Wednesday, October 25th, it was my birthday! There were so many things that I loved about my birthday, but here are 5 of my favorite things! 

There is a lot that a store needs to do to attract a customer in. The exterior lures them in, but what's going to make them want to explore the store some more? That's where the set up of the interior of a store comes into play. When checking out Willow street, I paid very close attention to the interior of the store. Here is what I found!

Here's my daily wardrobe!

As you may have seen in stores, there are a lot of trending colors for this season. When I shop, I tend to get similar colors that I know would go well with the way I dress and the vibe I want to give off.  According to Pantone, they predicted these trending colors for this season. Lets take a look and see if they are right!

I am able to see it from the eye of a consumer, but I'm also able to see it through a merchandiser's eye too. The difference between the two is that a customer sees what they want to buy or be inspired. They don't notice if there's something wrong with the way a store displays their products, or the texture of the interior, or how the merchandise is presented. While fall is usually about the leaves falling from the trees and sweater weather season, this fall has definitely been the opposite of that. It's been mid 80's and sunny ever since the beginning of the school year. So my question is, Fall where are you?

After reading my previous post, Fashion Forecasting- Guide to the Key Trends for Spring/Summer 2018, you may be wondering the same thing. I found some link to different stores for each trend. If you're looking for some cute trendy clothes, I hope this helps! If not, I think it's always helpful to know some different stores that have the most popular trends available. 

While fall just started, most of us are still looking for our cute fall outfits. We tend not to think about the winter season until around November, but believe it or not, a fashion forecaster's job is to predict the upcoming trends for the future, whether it's the near future (i.e Spring or Summer) or even further. I wanted to focus on comparing the trend forecasts from fall/winter 2017 to spring/summer 2018.

October is one of my favorite months for a lot of reasons. It's officially fall, the weather is just right, you can bring out the sweaters and, of course, it's my birthday month. Look at some more of my favorite things in October

Since school started, I've been so caught up and stressed with all the work of applying to colleges and homework is due on a given time, while I still have to do my other daily activities too. Sometimes, I need to take a break from all the stressful factors in my life.

Today's post is going to be a little different than the ones I've done before. This one is all about the future and technology. I am currently applying for scholarships and I thought it would be fun to create this one as a blog post as well. The point of this post is to make up a piece of technology that may exist in ten years from now and creatively write about how it will affect my everyday life.
