DIY Retro dress
So, I was taking a stroll in Forever 21 with my friend trying on piles of what we thought were the ugliest clothes because that's what we do when we are bored. We had taken some clothes from their new collection, which were the bright pink, blue and yellow clothes (if you've been in Forever 21 lately, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about). Some of the outfits looked super goofy, like one pair of shorts were tie dyed with a waist all the way to the belly button, or another one that were these bright blue boyfriend jeans with a rainbow colored mesh top. I finally got to this army green dress. I had accidentally grabbed a large instead of a small, so I wasn't sure whether its supposed to be a long shirt or a dress, but I tried it on anyway. At first I wasn't really sure, it was too plain and dark for spring. Then I had the idea to pizzazz it up by adding some embellishments onto it when I got home!
Once I got home I had it all planned out, I was going to iron some patches into the dress that DL1961 gave me. I've seen some NYC models with similar looks to what I had in mind, so I had an image of wearing it to NYC with some army green wedges. I have seen that patches on jackets are super trendy right now, so I thought I would put some on. Something was still missing; I needed to add some color to it, so I decided to put some paint on it. While I was thinking of what to do, I was also looking for a picture of something similar for some inspiration. Surprisingly, I couldn't find really anything similar to it at all. So I was on my own, but I came up with this.
