My Afternoon in Soho
On Saturday, I went to Soho to shop and go for brunch. It was supposed to be a rainy day, but surprisingly, it was the complete opposite! I spent the entire morning shopping at some of the coolest stores, ones that are not typically seen in Manhattan. Soho has so many interesting stores, besides the large retailers that everyone seems to shop at these days. I topped off the day by going to one of the healthiest buffet style restaurants ever. Keep reading to see all the awesome stores I went into, a super healthy dining option, and some key photo ops in Soho!
1. Cos: The only other time I've shopped at Cos before was when I was in Italy over the summer. As one of the sister retailers of H&M, Cos has a much more sophisticated, modern style to it. Along with the different style of clothes, Cos also has more of an upscale vibe to it, something that I would not think would describe H&M. Although modern isn't really my style, I'm have more of a mixed look between urban and fancier style, I found some cute clothes in Cos that I would wear myself.
2. Rag and Bone: Of all the stores that I shop at when I go into the city, Rag and Bone has never once failed at displaying something that I did not want to have as my own. If Rag and Bone was more affordable, I would probably own everything in the store. You can always count on Rag and Bone to have some of the most trendiest styles. I also really like how they always have a spectrum from a basic white tee shirt to leather, lace up jeans. They have a super nice selection of denim in the back of the store. I always fall in love with the shoes and the bags in the store, so here are a couple of my favorite's from Rag and Bone.

3. Zara: One of my favorite stores to visit while I'm out basically anywhere is Zara. When I went to the Zara in Soho, I was surprised the new collection. I found a couple of pieces that I thought were cute, but over all I wasn't really impressed. Usually, there are many pieces that I'm obsessed with from Zara, but I think the reason why I wasn't really loving anything was because the colors were almost too bold for me. As a fashion merchandising major going to Marist next year (shoutout to Marist!), I actually really enjoyed looking at how they displayed the store. Each little display table or rack was sorted into different complementing colors, which is a more organized and attractive way to organize a store as large as Zara.
4. Other Stories: Other Stories, also a part of the H&M family, was another store that I try to visit because there are really no other locations close to me besides the one in Soho. Other stories is much more upscale and fancier than H&M or Cos. The atmosphere, and the clothes themselves, give off a very happy vibe. Unlike Zara, Other Stores contained a lot of light pinks and purples in their lines. Other Stories is one of those retailers that has almost everything, from clothes to jewelry to shoes to even make up.
5. Bershka: Saving my favorite for last, the Bershka pop up shop is my absolute newest obsession. They had many different styles that I feel like would be outfits that give off a very "blogger style" (even though that's not a legit style). You may be thinking, whats does a "blogger style" entail? Well scrawling through my Instagram feed, there are many bloggers that have either a mix of different styles or give off a bold look. These bold looks could contain staple pieces of clothing like striped pants with rips or a sweater with faux fur detailing on the sleeves. Anyways, it was one of those stores that I wanted to grab one of everything and try it on. I ended up buying a new long sleeved striped crop top and some Burgundy workout leggings.
After shopping, My mom and I went out to brunch, where we ate at a super healthy, vegan, buffet style restaurant called Dig Inn. If I could describe it to you, I would say its basically the Chipotle of healthy food. You get to pick an entree, appetizer and side as your meal. I picked Mac and Cheese (with bread crumbs on top) as my entree, with a side of salad, and an appetizer of potatoes. After selecting the food I wanted, I went upstairs to a little lounge where you were able to sit in either chairs or couches and enjoy your meal. On the menu, you can read what farms the foods that you are eating are from, so you know exactly where they get their foods from!
To sum up my afternoon in Soho, I took some pictures as pictures in my new favorite off the should, cable sweater from River Island. There were many places that are so photogenic in Soho. First off, any time you take pictures on the cobble stone streets, you know that it's going to be super photogenic. I also love taking pictures on the steps. I feel like you can't find those "step spots" anywhere else in the city besides Soho. I also really like taking advantage of the murals and graffiti along the streets because those are something that are 100% unique. The most obvious place to take pictures, one that everyone should know about, is in front of a taxi! Taxi pictures are always iconic to New York City and should not be passed over or forgotten!
